Hello guys! So as a young photographer, i know the struggle of actually getting started. No camera, little editing skills and just no way of showing your work. Well thank God for you that i'm here to give you a few tips on how to get started! It's not that hard really, it just needs some time and dedication and if you're asking me..summer is the perfect time to start!!
You would think that a camera is the absolutely most important thing for photography. Well, you are not wrong but that doesn't mean that you need the best, most expensive camera ever made, to get started. When i first started i used my phone's camera! I believe it's the best and easiest way to start. Don't go and by a really expensive camera and then realize you don't like photography as much as you thought. It's best to start with your phone, get some experience, make sure you are serious about it and then go and get a camera.
The camera i use is a NIKON Coolpix L330 which is a simple yet very good camera to start with! The zoom is just amazing, quality really good and the price is just right! It's not that expensive so you don't have to worry about throwing away a bunch of money in case you decide you don't want to continue.
The best way to get good at photography is to go out and take pictures all the time! Find interesting elements, look at other photos online to get some ideas and play around with the settings of your camera! What i did was i found this nature trail close to my best friends house and i took her with me when i would take photos! It was nice to have a picture buddy who was also into photography! We exchanged ideas and it was so fun to just have someone to share it with. I found though that it was good to go by myself from times to times, not only because it was relaxing but because i could just be me and my camera being as creative as i wanted! Believe me, practice is the key!
An other thing that i found was really helpful is keeping track of your progress. Having a little notebook with you to write down a new idea you came up with, little tips for yourself you just learned or anything you want really! I found it was so good to keep my ideas written and so i could go back and see what i learned or any ideas of photos i wanted to take. What about even writing a blog!! It could be your online notebook and it's a great way to come in touch with other people who have the same interest as you!
So umm yeah! These are a few ideas if you want to get started and basically how i got started with photography! The hardest part about it is to actually get started, so go outside and let your creativity loose! I really wanted to write something inspiring at this part but you know..just go take pictures. DO IT! =D
